Only The Man Remains
This poem was born from moments when I had to abandon something precious to me or lose everything. I wrote it as a reminder that as long as I do not lose my faith, I will always have myself, whether alive or dead.

Only the man remains

What remains of man
when you take away
all he thought he had?
The man,
with what he has.
And what remains
when you take that too?
The naked man.
And what happens
when his body dies?
The soul remains.
And what happens
if you take away the name of Jesus?
Nothing remains.
